About The Author

beware the finches, for they will steal your heart.

This blog represents that first foray into online documentation,  lending a voice and words to the great soupy mess already out there. An unaffiliated and unvetted blog. Chiefly concerned with whatever the author can pen about at the moment. May more often feature: Chinese language (as a foreign learner), US Academic life, US Politics, Global News, Slice-of-life, simple prose essays, photos, links to other (more polished) blogs, and maybe even a following!

The author is based in the U.S. Capitol city of Washington, D.C., having moved from Seattle, WA where they studied International Relations and Chinese Linguistics. Relatively competent speaker of Chinese (Mandarin) and English, avid reader and riverbank-walking philosopher.

The author is a great fan of dogs, and guarantees responses to any message with attached good boy.

A mighty thank you for stopping by as well, trekked across the incredible distance of cyberspace.
